Penang - Malaysia Part 2

After getting off the coldest ferry in the world we jumped into a taxi to make our way to Heather and Lance. They have the cutest little kids who were so excited to see us! Unfortunately because if the late ferry the two oldest kids had to head to bed with soon after our arrival (it was a school night after all!) and we sat up all night chatting with Lance, Heather and little adorable Amy!

Heather was so kind and had prepared a delicious dins for us all (ahhhhh mothers home cooking!), put out clean towels (bliss!) and even chocolates on our pillows ;) Lance said he remembered being a traveller and surely  we must want washing done - which we all jumped at!! Love love love home washed clothes ;)

Amy kept us entertained all night, running around like a maniac and playing to all hours of the morning. This little one hates to put on clothing and at one point modelled in naked, except for a pair of over sized high heels, and announced 'I am dressed!' She had us in hysterics!!

We sat up until 2am swapping travel stories and giving us tips on where we should and shouldn't go... Eventually our eyes were closing and 'the teachers' needed to head to bed.

At about 7am we were all fast asleep when they crept past us all on the couch and whispered goodbye... Half asleep we said good bye but didn't really get to thank them for their awesome hospitality! So - thanks Lance and Heather - it was so wonderful to meet you!

Isabelle, the Spanish teacher at their school kindly offered to take us into George Town, a world heritage site, and to show us a few of the sights.

I would describe George Town as as smaller, quieter, less chaotic, just as dirty/smelly as Kuala Lumpur but it has some beautiful streets with such unique street art. We had such fun with these ;)

After lunch in the most beautiful restaurant Isabelle dropped us at the bus station and we headed to the airport. I put my head down and slept the entire hour bus journey, soooo lucky like that!!! ;)

There isn't much to do in George Town but we were so lucky to have a temporary adopted family (we almost stole Amy in our back packs!) and Isabelle to show us the highlights!!

Onto Singapore!
